Conversion systemSHOPIFY SEO SERVICES

Shopify SEO Services

EVKII Shopify SEO services work on the Shopify store itself: collection and product templates, the second product URL under a collection, canonical tags, theme and app speed, product structured data, and redirects in Shopify's URL redirect tool.

Shopify SEO services cover what is specific to a Shopify store: collection pages, product pages, and the collection-scoped product URL.

The same engagement covers canonical tags, theme and app speed, product structured data, internal links, blog posts, and migrations recorded in Shopify's URL redirect tool.

EVKII does not publish a one-size fee, a turnaround, or a ranking guarantee. Discuss the project, send a project brief, or contact EVKII.

01 / Method

One buying story, two storefronts

Operators comparing a shopify seo service already sell on Shopify. The gap is the Shopify URL and template model, not a generic catalog checklist. EVKII Shopify SEO services stay on that platform: how collections and products are structured, which product URL carries the canonical tag, how the theme and apps affect speed, how product structured data is emitted, and how old URLs are redirected. Broader catalog SEO that is not tied to one platform is ecommerce SEO.

01

Collection and product templates

Each collection and each product has its own search-engine listing in Shopify admin: page title, meta description, and URL handle. A handle change can redirect the old URL.

02

Canonical tags on both product URLs

EVKII reads the live canonical on the product path and the collection-scoped path, then points internal links at the URL that tag names.

03

Theme speed and installed apps

Theme, apps, and third-party tags are reviewed against LCP, CLS, and INP. No score is invented on this page.

04

Product data, links, and the blog

Product microdata for price, availability, and reviews is checked against the visible page. Collection and blog links use the canonical product URL.

Includes

  • Collection and product templates, including the search-engine listing title, meta description, and URL handle
  • A live canonical check on /products/product-handle and /collections/collection-handle/products/product-handle
  • Theme, app, and third-party code reviewed against LCP, CLS, and INP, with no invented score
  • Product structured data compared with the price, availability, and review facts on the page
  • Internal links from collections, products, and blog posts to the URL the canonical tag names
  • Redirects in Shopify's URL redirect tool for retired URLs that return a 404

Does not include

  • A ranking guarantee or a promised rich result
  • A published one-size price or a published turnaround
  • Platform-agnostic catalog SEO, which the ecommerce SEO page owns
  • Theme design and a storefront rebuild, which the Shopify web design page owns
  • Invented search volumes, traffic percentages, or client results

Engage when

  • Shopify + Amazon operate as two disconnected stories
  • PDP creative pipeline can't keep up with catalog growth
  • Ready to align pricing, imagery, lifecycle across channels

Hold when

  • Single-SKU launch with no marketplace plan
  • Pre-product-market fit — offer still shifting weekly

Technical file / full scope

Full overview

Shopify documents the store as homepage, then collections, then products, and adds canonical tags so the same content is less likely to compete with itself. Two standard product paths are /products/product-handle and /collections/collection-handle/products/product-handle. A theme prints the canonical from canonical_url. Google treats that tag as a strong preference and says internal links should use the URL you want canonical. Sources: Shopify SEO overview, theme SEO metadata, Shopify standard routes, and how Google specifies a canonical.

Storefront design, custom themes, and a rebuild are Shopify web design. Titles, meta descriptions, and headings that are not specific to Shopify are on-page SEO services. A sitewide crawl, redirect map outside Shopify admin, and Core Web Vitals program is technical SEO. The prioritized fix list is SEO audit services.

Detailed production sequence
  1. 01Written scope: which collections, products, and blog posts are in, and which query each one should earn
  2. 02URL pass: collection handles, product handles, and collection-scoped product URLs, with the live canonical recorded
  3. 03Search-engine listing pass: page title, meta description, and URL handle on those resources in Shopify admin
  4. 04Speed pass: theme, apps, and third-party tags against LCP, CLS, and INP when the live store or Search Console shows them
  5. 05Structured data pass: product markup compared with the price, availability, and review text a shopper can see
  6. 06Redirect pass in Shopify's URL redirect tool for retired URLs that return a 404, then a written list of what changed
Collection pages and product pages

A collection URL is /collections/collection-handle. A product URL is /products/product-handle. The collection settings page says a new collection gets a URL handle automatically, and that the page title, meta description, and handle can be edited. If the handle changes, Shopify can create a redirect from the old URL.

Filtered and sorted collection URLs repeat the collection. The default robots.txt disallows tag filters that use a plus sign, and sorted collection URLs. That rule is not a canonical. Google says not to use robots.txt to choose one. Internal links should use the collection URL you want indexed. See editing robots.txt and Google's ecommerce URL guidance.

Duplicate product URLs and canonical handling

The same product can load at both standard paths. Help Center says canonical tags limit duplicate content. Themes print canonical_url. Google treats rel=canonical as a strong signal, behind a redirect, and may still choose another URL.

EVKII records the live tag on both paths and points grids, menus, and posts at that URL. A collection-scoped URL that still returns a page cannot be redirected, because the URL redirect tool only accepts a broken URL.

Theme speed, apps, and product structured data

Shopify's performance help names the theme, installed apps, and third-party code, including tag managers, as the main speed factors, measured as LCP, CLS, and INP. Large collections can be paginated. EVKII reads the live theme or Search Console when access exists.

The sitemap help page says the sitemap lists products, the primary image, pages, collections, and blog posts, and that current themes include microdata for price, availability, and reviews. Google's Product structured data says that markup can make those facts eligible for a richer result. Google decides whether to show it. EVKII checks the markup against the page.

Blog content, internal links, and migrations

A post has its own page title, meta description, and URL handle. Changing the handle can create a redirect. EVKII links each post to the product or collection it supports, using the URL the canonical tag names. Steps are on adding and managing blog posts.

Retired URLs go in the URL redirect tool: Content, then Menus, then URL redirects. The URL redirect help page says the old URL must be broken, such as a 404. It will not redirect /products, /collections, or /collections/all, or paths that start with /apps, /application, /cart, /carts, /orders, /services, or /shop. Hiding a collection or drafting a product can produce that 404. Publishing the resource again deletes the redirect. A saved redirect is a 301 and can be cached.

How this differs from ecommerce SEO

Ecommerce SEO is the platform-agnostic parent for catalog structure and category rankings. This page stays on Shopify's controls. Shopify web design is the theme and storefront build. This page does not sell a redesign or a ranking.

04 / Field questions

Before we build.

01What do Shopify SEO services include?

Collection and product templates, the collection-scoped product URL, canonical tags, theme and app speed (LCP, CLS, and INP) with no invented score, product structured data checked against the visible page, internal links, blog posts, and redirects in the Shopify URL redirect tool for URLs that return a 404. Office: 7040 Avenida Encinas Suite 104-441, Carlsbad, CA 92011.

02How is Shopify SEO different from ecommerce SEO?

Ecommerce SEO is the broader catalog engagement and is not tied to one platform. Shopify SEO services stay on collection and product URLs, canonical tags, the URL redirect tool, theme and app speed, and Shopify blog posts. Storefront design is a separate engagement.

03What happens to a product URL inside a collection?

Shopify documents a product path and a collection-scoped product path. Canonical tags limit duplicate content, and themes print canonical_url. Google may still select a different URL. A collection-scoped URL that still loads a page cannot be redirected, because the URL redirect tool only accepts a broken URL.

04When can a Shopify URL redirect be created?

In Shopify admin, under Content, then Menus, then URL redirects. The old URL has to return a 404. Paths such as /products, /collections, and /collections/all cannot be redirected. Hiding a collection or drafting a product can make the URL broken so a redirect can be saved. Publishing it again deletes that redirect.

05Do you guarantee rankings or rich results?

No. Ranking and rich results are controlled by the platforms. Product structured data can make price, availability, and reviews eligible for a richer listing. It does not require Google to show one. EVKII does not publish a one-size fee or a turnaround on this page.

06How do I start?

Discuss the project, send a project brief, or contact EVKII. Heath Squier scopes the URLs in writing. Phone (760) 208-4499. Email heath@evkii.com. There is no ranking guarantee.
